Bal Ashram day 3
After a warm night, a great breakfast, skipped yoga as it
was raining (very unusual) went to visit Nimri village where the company I work
for has installed water pumps and BBA have helped the Banjara people who were
nomadic to settle, we visited there school and learnt just how important
education was for them now. The adults earnt there money by collecting and
selling salt. Such powerful and wonderful people. Went for another swim and
visited the Jain temple and then the childrens dancing audition dinner again
(great) and then another warm night. We were so lucky it was fairly cool not getting
above 110F.
Day 4 was travelling back to Delhi after breakfast, all the
children came out to say good bye, it was heartbreaking, except that we will
have to come back soon.
Sorry for such a short blog, no internet at Bal Ashram and
we are now off to Kashmir, where we hope to expand the blog, also at Bal Ashram
basically every minute of the day is “working giving out bikes” or being with the
children, eating, playing football and talking with the children, teachers and
staff – the very very best people.
We must have each drank 5-7 liters of water a day, thank
goodness as we got dehydrated so quickly.
