Day 3 Bal Ashram

Travel to Bal Ashram – had an amazing European breakfast and then set out for the airport to meet Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Peter, as they were flying in from London, met them at approx. 11.30 and then drove down to Rajasthan, it was now approx. 100+ and crazy Indian Roads, this was the first time for them in India and it was fascinating for them. When we got to Bal Ashram which is about a 30 minute drive into the deserts of Rajasthan all the students were there to greet us, it was very moving. We then had a welcome cup of tea or chai. Later that afternoon we went for a swim in the “pool” a swimming pool that doubles as a water tank for watering the gardens, so the bottom is a little slippy with algae but wonderful as the temperature was getting really high. Later in the evening we the children had a singing competition and then we had dinner, all vegetarian and exactly what the children in the school eat, we had 4 rooms 2 with air-conditioning and two with fans. It was a warm night and even those with ac did not when the electricity ended in the middle of the night.
